• Mount Batur

While in this monkey forest, you can explore on paved pathways through a leafy nutmeg forest. While enjoying the pathways, you will meet some playful primates, swinging through canopies and feeding on bananas.

You will also see several ancient temples under dense foliage, including Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal and Pura Prajapati. These two temples are dedicated to village funerals. • West Bali National Park

West Bali National Park does not only serve you a forest area, but there are also open savannahs and mangrove swamps. It actually serves as Bali’s main wildlife and nature conservation area.

It covers around 19,000 hectares of mountainous and coastal zones. You will be able to meet almost 300 different species of animals and birds here, including the rare Bali Starling (Leucopsar rothschildi).

To enter the park’s protected zones, a permit will be needed. You can apply for it at the park’s information center on Jalan Raya Cekik-Gilimanuk. An official guide will accompany you most of the time.
