Ubud is a town in Bali where tourists from all over the world will visit this town since it has developed a large tourism industry. The are surrounding the town is made up of small farms, rice paddies, agroforestry plantations and in the central foothilss of the Gianyar regency.

As of 2018 Ubud has been visited by more tourist than Denpasar. As for many places in Indonesia, nature tourism is what many tourists is exploring and in Ubud there are many nature tourism, let us see one of them which is waterfall.

We are going to see waterfalls in Ubud and near Ubud, so here are 10 Waterfalls near Ubud.

1.Timbumana Waterfall

Timbumana Waterfall is one of the most beautiful hidden waterfalls in Bali, it is located in Bangli region. To reach the waterfall you need to walk for a short ten minute over bamboo bridges that is mainly flat and safe.

The overgrown greenery and moss on the cliffs surrounding the waterfall enhances the beauty of Timbumana Waterfall. The water is no more than 6 feet deep so you can swim there but diving is not an option, moreover you can stand right underneath the waterfall.

2. Tukad Cepung Waterfall

Tukad Cepung Waterfall is also a tourist attraction in Bangli Area, the track to get there is easy enough and only takes up to 15 minutes to walk down it. The waterfall is located in the middle of high cliffs which makes it seems like a waterfall inside a cave this is the uniqueness of Tukad Cepung Waterfall.

While the open sky is right from the waterfall emerges, the sunlight falls on the glistering waterfall creating a rainbow. If you visit it just in time when the sun rays then it will create an amazing show just for you.

3. Nungnung Waterfall

Located between Ubud and Bedugul another hidden waterfall near Ubud. To reach the waterfall you need to trek down for around 20 minutes in the pathway made up of concrete stairs. Despite the tricky trek, the view down in the waterfall is all worth it, around it was ferns, crawling plants and trees growing on the sides of the canyon.

The Nungnung waterfall roaring from the top and then flowing away in a green-brown colored stream, there are rocks near the pool but be careful if you try to swim since the waterfall is really powerful and the current will push you away.

Just like the other two waterfalls before the entrance fee is Rp. 10000.

4. Leke Leke Waterfall

Located in the Tabanan Regency is the next waterfall on our 10 Waterfalls Near Ubud, it is the Leke Leke Waterfall. Different from the waterfall before, from the ticket booth there are shops, restaurants and toilets which make this is a well set up tourist attraction.

The path down to the waterfall is a combination of steps and sand paths for 10 minutes until you reach the bamboo bridge then after 5 minutes the Leke Leke Waterfall is reached.

This waterfall have a narrow stream of water that plummets down into a small and shallow pool of blue water and surrounded by green and lush forestation. The entrance fee is Rp 50000 which is a bit more expensive than the waterfall before.

5. Kanto Lampo Waterfall

Kanto Lampo Waterfall is created after the Kanto Lampo river was hit by an avalanche, it is located in Beng vilage in Gianyar. The scenic, seasonal waterfall with its water cascading down a stepped rick formation is a stunning view to behold.

The source of this waterfall is a dam and this waterfall is absolutely new. The walk down to the waterfall only needs 5 to 10 minutes and the entrance fee is Rp. 10000.

The waterfall is 10 meters from the Kanto Lampo Spring, the spring is abundant as it now has a cascading waterfall which provides water for the farming needs. Beside visiting waterfalls, there are other things to do in Gianyar Bali.

6. Tegenungan Waterfall

Tegenungan Waterfall Ubud Bali is one of the popular waterfall in Bali, it is around 30 minutes from Ubud, located in Tegenungan Kemenuh Village, Gianyar. Since it is a popular waterfall the place can be crowded, so you need to pick the best time to visit there.

Swimming in this waterfall is safe enough and many people swim here since there are lifeguards also toilet facilities so visitors can change.

The blooming trees surrounding the waterfall compliments the beauty of the waterfall, the great discharge of water falls down into a wide pond in the bottom.

With an entrance fee of Rp 15000 you can feel the calming water sound, the fresh air and the sounds of birds chirp.

7. Goa Rang Reng Waterfal

Goa Rang Reng Waterfall is located in Gitgit Village, Gianyar which is around 30 minutes from Ubud. The waterfall surrounded by natural forest, moreover near the waterfall there is a cave that’s why it is called Goa Rang Reng Waterfall.

The uniqueness of this waterfall is the water does not fall down like regular waterfall but the water flow spreads through the steps of the rock so the flow is more gentle.

The color blend of black from the rocks with the green moss create a natural panorama, in addition the clear water from the mountains makes it fresh to play in. The entrance fee is Rp 15000 per person with an addition of parking fee. You can also explore other caves in Bali.

8. Dusun Kuning Waterfall

Other waterfalls in the area is Kanto Lampo, Tukad Cepung and Tibumana Waterfall makes this a perfect location, to be exact this waterfall is located in Dusun Kuning, Bangli that is why it is called Dusun Kuning Waterfall.

The hike down to reach the waterfall only takes fifteen minutes, along the way you will see a number of waterfalls bursting out from the rock walls that line the track.

The 25 meters high waterfall is surrounded by tropical and green plantations, the water flows effortlessly down the slate rock into the pools and the serene ambiance completes it. To gain access to the waterfall you will need to pay the entrance fee for Rp 20000.

9. Sumampan Waterfall

Sumampan Waterfall is a hidden gem in Bali, located in Kemenuh Village on the outskirts of Ubud. This waterfall is accidentaly formed by water leakage from leaking irrigation tunnels, due to the excavation of solid rock below the cliff the water quickly spread to the cliff and the flow of water was focussed on one point of the cliff creating the waterfall.

A short hike down on the path winds down into a lush jungle area and you will reach the waterfall. Since this waterfall is maintained by the locals the entrance fee is given as a donation, so it is up to you how much you want to give. After the day you can find things to do in Ubud at night.


10. Bangkiang Djaran Waterfall

Bangkiang Djaran Waterfall is also one of the popular waterfall in Bali, it is located near Tibumana Waterfall in Bangli. The access to this waterfall is pretty easy and the entrance fee is by donation.
