How Do You Get From Bali to Komodo Island? Find The Answer Here!

When going from Bali island, you don’t need to transit anywhere else, because Bali is actually the island for transit between other locations in Java to Labuan Bajo Port. Location of Bali

First, let us know about how far the location of Bali to Komodo Island. Anyone would know that Bali island is located on the East side of big Java Island with interesting things to do near Bingin beach Bali as one of the best points. From Nusa Tenggara provinces, it’s located on the West side. So from there, we can understand that the location of Bali to Komodo Island is actually not that far.

But before actually arriving at Komodo Island, you need to go for a port called Labuan Bajo. From there, you can continue your journey to the islands located nearby, like Rinca island and, of course, the Komodo Island. But from the Bali island itself, you need to pick one from three different routes to go to Labuan Bajo.

3 Different Acceses from Bali to Labuan Bajo

There are three possible routes you can take, and each one has its own possibility, benefits, and lacks. So let’s see them one by one.

1. Via Land

So how do you get from Bali to Komodo Island? Let’s see from the most favorite route, via land. Going from Bali to Labuan Bajo Port, you can just hop on a bus that goes from either Jakarta or Surabaya. The bus will take you to Sumbawa Besar, which usually costs about Rp250.000,-.

Then you need to continue your journey by taking a smaller bus, which will cost lesser. Now you have two choices, going from Sumbawa Besar to Bima or Sape. Going for Sape is recommended because you don’t need to transit at Bima. After that, you need to use a ferry to Labuan Bajo. It’s about seven to eight hours from Sape Port to Labuan Bajo, so spend your time resting is the best thing you can do.

2. Sea

If you want to just use a boat, you can use the boats that served by a national company, PELNI Corporation in order to use two of their boats in order to reach Labuan Bajo. Those two ships are KM Binaiya and Tilongkabila. The usual route if you this route is from Denpasar to Mataram and then Bima and finally Labuan Bajo. The average cost for this is about Rp250.000,- including the meals (3 times a day).

3. Air

And then the next route in how do you get from Bali to Komodo Island is by air. The most used access of all accesses on the list. The air route is always loved by both local and domestic tourists, because it’s the coziest and simplest, even though it’s a bit pricey.

If you’re going from Bali, you will take a propeller to go for Labuan Bajo. There are some reputable airlines that provide this service such as Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Batik Air, and Lion Air.

From Labuan Bajo to Komodo Island

In Labuan Bajo, the tourists can pick a boat based on their interest and budget. The options are already provided by a national corporation, ASDP Indonesia Ferry that provides the KMP ships. The ship can take you to the nearest islands around Labuan Bajo, like Komodo Island, Rinca Island, and the famous Pink Beach.

3 – Lingko Rice Terrace

5 – Kanawa Island

As one of those islands located close to Labuan Bajo port, this island is also known by everyone. The beach has the white clear sand that looks beautiful with the crystal water. It’s like visiting a private location not owned by everyone.
