North Lombok is not just about Gili Islands. There are many other beautiful places which are worth a visit. From mountain to beach, from coast to inland. You will be surprised to know there are lots of things to do in North Lombok. Let’s find out ..!

1. Climbing Mount Rinjani

Mount Rinjani has a height of 3,726 meters above sea level and is the second highest volcano in Indonesia. Mount Rinjani is part of Mount Rinjani National Park which has an area of about 41,330 hectares.

At the top of Mount Rinjani there is Lake Segara Anak which has a greenish color. The lake has an area of about 1,100 hectares and is the main attraction of Mount Rinjani. Climbing Mount Rinjani takes 7 – 10 hours.

How to Get There
Mount Rinjani National Park is located in Senaru Village, Bayan, North Lombok Regency. The admission is Rp 2.500 for local tourists and Rp 20.000 for foreign tourist. In addition to climbing, there are other things to do in Mount Rinjani.

2. Visiting Sendang Gile Waterfall

Sendang Gile Waterfall is located at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level and has a height of about 30 meters. Its water is believed to come from Lake Segara Anak.

The environment around the Sendang Gile Waterfall still looks natural. Green vegetation is all you can see. The waterfall is one of North Lombok’s flagship attractions.

3. Visiting Tiu Kelep Waterfall

Tiu Kelep Waterfall is situated not far from Sendang Gile Waterfall. From the entrance you need to walk about 45 minutes to get to the waterfall location.

Tiu Kelep Waterfall has a height of about 45 meters. The water flow is swift and forms a fairly wide river. The river is filled with slippery stones so you have to be careful.

Tiu Kelep Waterfall is located in Senaru Village, Bayan, North Lombok Regency. You don’t need to pay anymore because the entrance is the same as Sendang Gile Waterfall.

4. Visiting Gangga Waterfall

Gangga Waterfall is a hidden gem of North Lombok. Its beauty is still not widely known by people. When the weather is sunny, from the top of Gangga Waterfall you can see Gili islands in the distance.

Gangga waterfall is near the rice fields. The combination of waterfall, hills and rice fields generates a breathtaking scennery.

5. Visiting Sire Beach

Sire Beach is one of the favorite attractions in North Lombok. Its soft white sand, turquoise sea, and calm waves will definitely make visitors happy to linger here.

From Sire Beach you can see Mount Rinjani in the distance. The towering coconut trees lined up neatly on the edge. The beauty of Sire Beach undoubtedly will give you an escape from the hustle and bustle of life.

6. Visiting Tebing Beach

Tebing Beach (the cliff) is one of the instagramable spots in North Lombok. The researchers suspect the beach was formed as a result of the eruption of Mount Rinjani in 1257.

The black sand beach looks in contrast to the blue sea, producing stunning views. No wonder Tebing Beach becomes the favorite photo background for Lombok residents and visitors.

7. Visiting Lokok Piko Beach

Lokok Piko Beach is one of the few black sand beaches in Lombok. The beach is a hidden gem in North Lombok.

10. Tasting Tanjung Fish Satay

It is not a perfect holiday in North Lombok if you have not tasted Tanjung Fish Satay. It is typical food from North Lombok. Formerly Tanjung Fish Satay was only served when there were celebrations such as marriage, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.

The satay is made from selected fish, such as snapper, marlin and mackerel. Seasonings are made of various herbs such as chili, cayenne, garlic, galangal, ginger, candlenut and coconut milk.

How to Get There
Tanjung Fish Satay can be enjoyed in restaurants, food stalls or hotels. Price per serving is around Rp 5,000. Besides, you should also try the famous Taliwang Chicken. This menu is easy to find in Mataram. Go there, you will see there are many things to do in Mataram Lombok.
