The word “menjangan” comes from the Javanese language which means deer. Every spring, lots of wild deers swim to the island with a mileage of 1.2 miles. On this island there are many wild deers whose number is decreasing. So the government made it as West Bali National Park. However, this is a government effort to build conservation in order to preserve the deer and biodiversity that exist in the island.

However, to reach this island, you must cross by boat (boat) for 30 – 45 minutes from the Port of Lalang. During the trip you will be treated by views of great volcanoes from East Java to Prapat Agung combined with clear blue sea. 1. West Bali National Park

West Bali National Park is a large expanse of parks in the area of ​​the highway of Denpasar-Singaraja-Gilimanuk. The total area of ​​this park is 19,002 hectares, of which 15,587 hectares are land area and the rest are water areas. However, this park has 2 entrances that is through gilimanuk about 200 kilometers from denpasar, and from the main door that is from singaraja.

2. Menjangan Beach

You can enjoy this beautiful beach right in front of your eyes. The sky is crystal clear, the sea is flawless like a mirror. These stunning views, are the views you can only get in this place, Menjangan Island.

3. Taman Pingit Klenting Sari Temple

This is the first temple you can find in here. As the other temples, this temple has no time for opening and closing. This place opens every time, because this place is used as a praying spot for the people around this island. Entering the area of ​​Taman Beji Temple (Pura Pingit Klenting Sari), you will pass the Kori (entrance) guarded by a tigers in the entrance.

Inside the Pingit Klenting Sari Temple, there are several pelinggih. Among them are Padmasana, Pelinggih Ida Betari Duayu Taman which exist only in Pulai Pingit Klenting Sari. Also, there is a statue of White Crocodile and White Snake in this place. There are no entrance ticket, maybe there’s just a box for donation. Its truly great place to visit.

4. Agung Brahma Ireng/ Ratu patih Keboiwa

From the first temple which is Pura Taman Pingit Klenting Sari, you can go to the next temple in Menjangan which is only 500 meters along the path to Pesraman Agung Brahma Ireng, Menjangan Island. Pendopo Ida Bhatara Ratu Patih Lingsir Kebo Iwa is built between dry grass and bush, with the color of red dominant building. Overlooking the sea with the view of the island of Bali in the distance. If you lucky, you will be able to meet Menjangan animals that roam the temple area.

Entering the middle room of Pesraman Agung Brahma Ireng, you can see 2 statues beside entrance. Inside the sacred room pesraman, there are 1 Pelinggih, 1 Gedong inscribed Brahma, and 1 statue of Ratu Patih Lingsir Kebo Iwa colored gold by using red wastra paint. Pretty unique, isn’t it?. As the other temples, this place opens every time and doesn’t have entry ticket’s fee.

5. Pagoda of Agung Dewi Kwan Im / Dewi Kemakmuran

Not so far from the last temple, just a few footsteps, you can travel to the third location of Tirta Yatra in Menjangan Island. Pagoda Agung Dewi Kwan Im, a sacred building of chinese architecture coloured in pink. Which of course same as Pagoda or other Pagoda in Bali, Pagoda Agung in Menjangan Island also has a statue of Kwan Im Goddess, also decorated with typical ornaments of pagoda like dragon, lantern, and oriental roof decoration in this temple.

In the holy chamber of the Great Pagoda of Goddess Kwan In there is a mantram. You can also see the Goddess of Prosperity (Dewi Kwan Im) inside a glass above the table. 6. Pendopo Ida Bhatara Dalem Gajah Mada / Hyang Wisnu Murti

The fourth temple is Pendopo Ida Bhatara Lingsir Dalem Gajah Mada which is just beside the Great Pagoda Dewi Kwam In. The room is larger and bigger than Pesraman Agung Brahma Ireng (Pendopo Ida Bhatara Ratu Patih Lingsir Kebo Iwa). However, its thick with Javanese feels, from Pendopo roof shape to carved wooden door / joglo in front of pelinggih.

Same as above, this place opens every time and doesn’t have entry ticket’s fee. However, in the hall there is a Statue of Horse located in the middle of the place of worship. Also in the holy room, there is a statue of Maha Patih Gajah Mada worshiped as Hyang Wisnu Murti, famous in the archipelago with his Palapa Oath to unifying the country. What an unique place.

7. Sang Hyang Siwa Pasupati Temple

Now, the fifth temple. This temple has Balinese architecture with a very dominant white color. From some of the remaining buildings that we can see, this temple is possibly just finish in pugar or in repair. On the right side, there is pelinggih penyawangan Ida Betara Lingsir Watu renggong. Behind or at the rear side of Shiva Sanghyang temple, stood Ganesha statue which is very magnificent, overlooking the sea.

8. Pelinggih Sang Hyang Ganesha

Finally, the last temple, Pelinggih Sang Hyang Ganesha. You can reach here by returning along the path (out of the pelinggih of Ida Betara Dalem Lingsir Waturenggong and Dalem Air Langga, then to the right). Only 5 meters away from Ida Betara Dalem Lingsir Waturenggong and Dalem Air Langga. Its also be behind the Sang Hyang Pura Pasupati Siwa Nunggal.

In this temple you can find the standing sturdy and very magnificent statue of Ganesha, made of white stone material. Sang Hyang Ganesha guarding Bali Island from the North Coast, therefore he faces the Sea towards Bali Island. Pretty unique isn’t it?

10. Eel Garden

11. Secret Bay

This is one of the best things to do in Menjangan Island Bali Indonesia. Secret Bay is the perfect location for you who love macro diving because in this location the waters are quite shallow with a variety of coral reefs and have muddy sand on the seabed. In this volcanic sand, live a variety of marine biota  that rare and endemic.

This location is a very natural location on the island of Menjangan and not much touched. With only 10 meters depth, you can  find nudibranchs, frogfish, shrimpfish, seahorses, dragonets, pipefish, lionfish, lobsters, ribbon eels and many other species. The recommended time to dive in this spot is when the circular moon are in the right position. Also, It is advisable for you to use wetsuit because the water temperature here can be cooler than other Balinese waters.

12. Anchor Wreck

Anchor Wreck is a recommended diving location for experienced and professional divers. With a depth of about 45 meters, this location offers the uniqueness of a rusty shipwreck complete with anchor. According to the wider community, this ship is a Dutch naval ship that sank in the 19th century during World War II.

This ship is called as Anker Ship or Slave Ship, because this ship carrying slaves from Bali to Jakarta. If you dive into this ship, you will find a chest with contents of ceramic furniture furnishings that have been overgrown with soft corals and also turtles and even sharks that are swimming. Such an unique spot.
