Maybe the name “Klungkung” is a little bit strange for you. Klungkung regency is the smallest district in the province of Bali, Indonesia. The capital is in Semarapura. Klungkung borders with Bangli regency in the north, Karangasem regency in the east, Gianyar regency in the west and with the Indian Ocean to the south.

1. Kerta Gosa and Taman Gili

Kertha Gosa was once part of the complex of Klungkung royal building. Klungkung royal complex was built in 1686 by the first holder of power, Ida I Dewa Agung Jambe. But in 1908, almost all of Klungkung royal buildings were destroyed due to the Dutch colonial invasion.

3. Pesinggahan Village

Pesinggahan is the name of a village as well as a tourist spot in Klungkung located in Klungkung regency which is adjacent with Karangsem regency. When you know the attraction of Goa Pura Lawah, there is where Pesinggahan located. In addition to having Pura Goa Lawah, Pesinggahan Village is a village that holds the beauty of the beach that has outstanding beauty. So it is good if you have a plan to visit here.

In the village of Pesinggahan is also famous for its “lesehan” satay fish stalls because in the village there are some typical lesehan stalls pesinggahan like Pancaboga, Merta Sari, Baruna, Rahayu and so forth. 4. Semarajaya Museum

Semarajaya museum building was built by the Dutch government, after the kingdom of Klungkung lost in Puputan war. 5. Nyoman Gunarsa Museum

Nyoman Gunarsa Classic Art Museum is an art museum located on a strategic lane or precisely located on the Banda Tiger Band Takmung Village, or approximately 3 Km from West Semarapura. The shape of the building in the Museum is a blend of modern Balinese architecture.

Nyoman Gunarsa Museum, is a place of tourism in klungkung which is divided into 2 main sections, namely place for collection of classical painting of Bali and place of modern painting of Bali. Those two places present two different collections of painting. To enter this artful museum, you need to pay about 25.000 rupiahs. Also, this venue opens from Monday – Saturday on 9 am until 4 pm. 6. Japanese Cave

Japan cave is a cave  of the Japanese Government built at the beginning of colonization in 1941 until 1942. On the cliff wall there is a river Tukad Bubuh flowing. There are at least 16 holes in the Japanese cave here which has a length of about 14 meters with a width of approximately 2 meters. Its decorated with moist walls. Looks a little creepy.

7.Agung Klungkung Temple

Agung Klungkung is a historic building located in Semarapura-Klungkung, Bali. The temple is a relic of the greatness of the Kingdom of Klungkung. Agung Klungkung built around the end of the 17th century. But unfortunately the building of this is destroyed during the Dutch conquest in 1908.

8. Lawah Cave / Temple

Lawah temple is located in Pesinggahan Village, Dawan Sub-district, Klungkung Regency which is about 10 km east of Semarapura town of Klungkung or about 50 km from Denpasar City. Its not too difficult to find this tourist object in Klungkung, because its included in the road tour to Karangasem. On the way, you will find three other tours such as a Cave, Temple and Beach.

The uniqueness of Lawah Temple attraction is located in the temple area.
