Karangasem regency is one of nine regencies in Bali Province. Regency which located in the eastern part of Bali Island is bordered by the Lombok Strait in the East; The western part is bordered by Klungkung, Bangli and Buleleng districts; The Southern part is  the Indian Ocean, and the North is the Java Sea. The capital of this district is Amlapura.

The distance between Karangasem and Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali Indonesia is 88 km (53 miles). Along the road from the airport you will see a panoramic view of East Bali with its hills and beautiful rice fields. From Denpasar, this beach is only about 125 kilometers to the northeast by traveling about 3 hours. 5. Labuhan Amuk Beach

7. Mount Agung

8. Lempuyang Temple

Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang has the location in Abang Subdistrict, in the village named Adat Purwa Ayung. Because of its location in Bukit Bangle, visitors must climb the stairs to reach this location. From a distance, there are soothing scenery to be enjoyed until you satisfied.

There are two levels within this temple; On the first level, visitors will find Bale Wantilan. 9. Besakih Temple

The island of Bali earned the nickname “island of a thousand temples” because almost in every banjar there is one temple or more, and the largest temple in Bali is located in Karangasem regency, called Pura Besakih. 10. Bukit Jambul (Jambul Hills)

One of the tourist attraction in Karangasem regency that offers natural beauty with a blend of hills, rice fields, valleys and sea panorama is Bukit Jambul tourism object. If you just exit from Kerta Gosa attractions and Semarajaya Museum in Klungkung Regency and will continue the journey to Pura Besakih tourist attraction then you will automatically pass this hill.

11. Taman Ujung

The park, which also known as Soekasada Ujung Park and widely used as a pre-wedding location in Bali is a royal site located in Karangasem District and precisely in the village called Tumbu. If you depart from the capital of Bali, namely Denpasar, is quite far away because vyou have to travel a distance of about 60 kilometers.

12. Tenganan Village

Perhaps some of you are still not too familiar with Tenganan which is a village of native Bali or people also call it Bali Age. Located in Manggis Subdistrict, this one traditional village can be reached within 70 kilometers if you go directly from Ngurah Rai Airport.

One of the attractions of this village is the average citizen house building made from a mixture of soil, river rock with red stone and its size is almost the same between one house to another. Another charm that can be found in this village is a typical craft in the form of carvings, woven bamboo and even paintings made on palm leaves as well as beautiful woven fabrics. However, there’s no entry ticket need to be paid, but it suggested that you pay a little for donation, for its maintenance.
